Roger Jannotta, <\/strong>American-born composer, arranger and instrumentalist (flute, saxophone, clarinet and oboe) has been living in Munich since 1978. He studied at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, the Mozarteum in Salzburg and, in addition, composition at the Royal College of Music in London and at the New England Conservatory in Boston. He has taught at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and the University of New Mexico as well as the Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater<\/em> in Munich (jazz department).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The following is a selection of his numerous engagements as musician\nand composer: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00fcnchner Kammerspiele (1978-1999), Carla Bley Big Band, Michael Mantler, ICI Ensemble Munich, Children at Play, Harry James Orchestra, Thorsten Klentze, Munich Symphony Orchestra and Passau Jazz Orchestra. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an arranger he has worked for, among others: Blechschaden<\/em> (Bob Ross and the brass section of the Munich\nPhilharmonic), the Bavarian Theatre Academy August\nEverding<\/em>, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the State Theatre of Lower Bavaria\nand the ZDF (television) show Eine Grosse\nNachtmusik<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1972 he was awarded a grant for composition from the National\nEndowment for the Arts (USA). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1999 he won a prize in the G\u00fcnter Bialas Competition for Chamber Music (Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und Theater<\/em>, Munich).<\/p>\n\n\n
